Golden Spike

As promised, I am here letting you know about our special activity for Wyatt’s birthday.

We took a little road trip and went to the Golden Spike Tower in North Platte, Nebraska.

It’s the largest rail yard in the world with so much track it could reach from North Platte to Omaha and so many trains the rail yard uses 14 million gallons of diesel a month.

I never knew Nebraska had such a claim to fame.

It was neat to see all the trains from the tower but it wasn’t a very hands on activity for little kids. Brad could’ve spend a couple of hours reading the signs, but Elliana and Wyatt started running laps around the tower.

Our next stop was the trains at Cody Park. The little people enjoyed these because they could climb on the tracks and on the trains. I found the items inside the trains to be interesting, and checking these trains out was free!

The ice cream at the park was also a nice perk!
