Last weekend a small part of Nebraska suffered major damage from at least 13 tornadoes. We’ve been thinking about our farming friends in the area this week.
An article in the Lincoln paper reported that over $21,000,000 of damage is just from flipped and twisted pivots! You can bet farmers are going to want those fixed FAST!
In other weather related news, it has been a chilly spring. It’s been so chilly in fact that the ground temperature has cooled down from the end of April. You want corn seeds in 50+ degree soil; so some are thinking that corn planted when we first started planting might be doing fine, but corn planted in May might be at risk of not coming up. Time will tell.
